Pre-Installation Preparation

Materials and Tools Preparation: Based on the design drawings and actual needs, prepare the cable trays and their accessories, such as connecting plates, bolts, nuts, etc., and also prepare installation tools, such as electric drills, wrenches, spirit levels, and measuring tapes.

Site Survey: Conduct a detailed site survey to understand the building structure, pipeline routing, cable laying path, etc., to determine the installation location and routing of the cable trays and avoid conflicts with other facilities.

Determining Installation Height: Determine the installation height of the cable trays based on factors such as the type and quantity of cables and the usage environment. Generally, the indoor installation height should not be less than 2.5 meters, and the outdoor installation height should meet relevant specifications to prevent damage from external forces.

 

Installation Brackets

Determining Bracket Locations: Based on the routing and spacing requirements of the cable trays, determine the installation locations of the brackets on the wall, column, or floor slab and mark them. The bracket spacing should meet the design requirements; generally, for horizontal laying, the bracket spacing is 1.5-3 meters; for vertical laying, the bracket spacing is no more than 2 meters.

Mounting the bracket: Drill holes at the marked locations using an electric drill, then insert expansion bolts into the holes and tighten them. Secure the bracket to the expansion bolts. During installation, ensure the bracket is level and plumb, using a spirit level for calibration. Deviations must not exceed the specified range.

 

Cable Tray Installation

Cable Tray Assembly: Assemble the various components of the cable tray according to design requirements, such as connecting straight-through trays, bend trays, and tee trays together. During assembly, use connecting plates and bolts to firmly connect the trays, ensuring the sealing and stability of the connections.

Cable Tray Lifting: For longer cable trays, lifting equipment can be used to lift them to the installation location. During lifting, care should be taken to protect the trays from collisions and deformation. After placing the trays on the supports, use bolts to firmly secure the trays to the supports.

 

Cable Tray Grounding

Grounding Wire Connection: To ensure the safety of the cable trays during operation, grounding is required. Connect one end of the grounding wire to the dedicated grounding bolt on the cable tray, and the other end reliably connect to the grounding electrode. The grounding resistance should meet design requirements, generally not exceeding 4Ω.

Grounding Inspection: After grounding is completed, the grounding condition should be inspected to ensure that the grounding wire connection is secure and there is no looseness. A grounding resistance tester can be used to measure the grounding resistance to ensure good grounding effect.
