HV switchgear is an integrated assembly of primary and secondary equipment for receiving, distributing, controlling, protecting, monitoring, and metering power in 3.6kV–40.5kV power systems. As the core hub of high-voltage power supply and distribution systems, it is typically installed in substations or user high-voltage distribution rooms, containing high-voltage circuit breakers, isolation switches, load switches, earthing switches, current and voltage transformers, surge arresters, protective relays, and measuring instruments. Modern designs adhere to strict safety standards-metal-enclosed construction, insulation medium (air, SF6 gas, or solid insulation) isolation, and five-prevention interlocking. It is classified by insulation and arc-extinguishing medium: Air-Insulated Switchgear (AIS, traditional and cost-effective), Gas-Insulated Switchgear (GIS, ultra-compact with SF6 gas-sealed stainless steel enclosure), and Solid-Insulated Switchgear (SIS, epoxy resin-encapsulated main circuits, no SF6). All variants feature mandatory five-prevention interlocking to prevent misoperation, and intelligent designs integrate online monitoring of partial discharge, temperature, and mechanical characteristics.
Our in-house R&D team designs HV switchgear lineups around the buyer's actual system voltage and short-circuit parameters, configuring voltage level (3.6kV–40.5kV), insulation medium (air, gas, or solid), and current rating combinations rather than pushing a single standard cubicle. This technical customization means the cubicle size, busbar rating, CT/PT ratio, and protection relay setting scheme are developed to the project's single-line diagram-so the panel arrives engineered for the incoming grid, not adapted in the field.

Applications
- Power plants and substations for generator outlets and transmission/distribution control, where five-prevention interlocking and metal-enclosed construction protect operators during switching operations.
- Industrial enterprise step-down stations that receive high-voltage power and distribute it to workshops, where custom voltage and current ratings match the incoming supply and downstream transformer loads.
- New energy stations for wind and solar farm collection and grid connection, where gas- or solid-insulated variants deliver compact, environment-independent operation at outdoor or harsh sites.
Customization
We customize rated voltage within 3.6kV–40.5kV, insulation medium (AIS/GIS/SIS), rated current and short-circuit rating, CT/PT ratios, protection relay scheme, cubicle dimensions, and intelligent monitoring integration. Logo, nameplate, and packaging can be arranged per buyer requirements.
Packaging & Transportation
Cubicles are packed in fumigation-free plywood crates, reinforced for international transport. Trade terms supported: FOB, EXW, DDP. Payment by T/T only (RMB or USD).
FAQ
Q: Can you design HV switchgear to a specific voltage and short-circuit level?
A: Yes. Our R&D team configures voltage (3.6kV–40.5kV), insulation medium, current rating, and protection scheme to the project single-line diagram.
Q: What is the lead time for a custom HV switchgear lineup?
A: Standard products ship within 10–15 working days; custom or large orders take 20–45 working days.
Q: Do you support OEM nameplates and branding?
A: Yes. Logo, nameplate, and external marking can be arranged per buyer requirements.
